Essential Skills

Conflict Management in the Workplace (3-004-laworks)

Description

Conflict is a natural part of every workplace. Differences in personalities, communication styles, priorities, and expectations can create misunderstandings that, if left unresolved, impact productivity, morale, and teamwork.  When managed effectively, however, conflict can strengthen relationships, improve collaboration, and drive better decision-making. The ability to recognize, address, and resolve conflict constructively is an essential skill for employees, supervisors, and leaders at every level. This highly interactive, experience-based workshop provides participants with practical strategies for managing workplace conflict professionally and confidently while transforming challenging situations into opportunities for stronger teamwork and improved performance.

Participants will learn to identify the root causes of conflict, recognize different conflict behaviors, and understand how their own conflict style influences interactions with others. They will also explore how emotions, assumptions, and communication patterns contribute to conflict and learn practical techniques to de-escalate difficult situations before they impact relationships or productivity. Through self-assessments, personalized case studies, group discussions, and realistic workplace simulations, participants will practice techniques for resolving disagreements, navigating difficult conversations, building trust, and maintaining positive working relationships.

The course emphasizes collaborative problem-solving, effective communication, and practical tools that can be immediately applied in the workplace. Rather than simply resolving conflict, participants will develop the confidence and skills to prevent unnecessary conflict, foster productive dialogue, and create solutions that strengthen both individual and team performance. Content and scenarios can be customized to reflect the organization's unique environment, policies, and challenges, ensuring a highly relevant and immediately applicable learning experience..
